To mark the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer in 2023, the Chemistry Department of Al Ameen College Edathala organised a poster exhibition with a central theme of “Protecting and Preventing Ozone Layer Pollution.” This event took place on September 20, 2023, at 2 p.m.
Students from the Chemistry department created posters focusing on the protection and conservation of the ozone layer. The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness among students about the significance of the ozone layer, its depletion, and the potential measures to safeguard and preserve it. The posters were displayed in the first-year classroom.
The official inauguration of the programme was presided over by our Head of Department, Dr. Leji Latheef, who delivered a brief introduction of the event. A total of ninety students actively took part in the programme and gained valuable knowledge about the consequences of ozone layer depletion, which poses a significant threat to life on Earth.
