The National Service Scheme is functioning under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It is a Voluntary Organization for students and teachers to involve in rural development programme and to participate in the socio-economic life of the community. It is a student centered programme in which projects are implemented by the N S S volunteers in close collaboration with the community. The Symbol Of The NSS Is Based On The ‘Rath’ Wheel Of The Konark Sun Temple Situated In Orissa. These Giant Wheels Of The Sun Temple Portray The Cycle Of Creation, Preservation And Release, And Signify The Movement In Life Across Time And Space. It Stands For Community As Well As Change And Implies The Continuous Striving Of National Service Scheme For Social Transformation & Upliftment.
National Service Scheme In Our College
N.S.S Unit Had Been In This College Since 1982. Now There Are 140 Committed Member Volunteers. It Aims At “Personality Development Through Community Service” And Upholds The Slogan “Not Me But You”. It Conducts Various Programmes Like Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayathi, NSS Day, World AIDS Day, World Environmental Day Etc Every Year Enthusiastically. Anti-Ragging Campaign, Anti-Drug Campaign, Health Awareness Programme, Blood Donation Camp Etc Are Also Being Conducted In This College Under The Auspices Of The NSS. NSS Yearly Conducts Two Mini Camps For A Duration Of 2days And A Special Camp For 7 Days. A Remarkable Achievement Of NSS Unit Is The Introduction Of A Gratuitous Pension Sscheme For The Poor Living In Nearby College.
