Department of Computer Science
The Computer Science Department was established in the year 1995 with the introduction of subsidiary course for B.Sc Petro Chemicals. Later B.Sc Physics Model II and B.A Economics Model II was introduced in 1998 and 2000 with Computer Science as Vocational and Complementary courses. The department elevated to a degree department with the introduction of B.Sc Computer Science degree programme in 2013. Further in 2014 ,the department got its second prestigious Degree Programme; BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application). Both these Programmes are under Self Financing Stream. Now the department offers courses to almost all the programmes of the college.
The new programme MSc Computer Science (Data Analytics)under Aided Stream, affiliated to M G University, starting from the academic year 2020-21, is the recent initiative by the Department of Computer Science in the emerging field of Data Science.
The department offers various certificate and training programmes for the students to make them more eligible and ready. The department has the continuous placement record with multiple students placed in various MNC’s like Infosys,TCS,Wipro etc.
Modern techniques for teaching and learning is used in the department. Online assignments, on line test papers, On line Lab cycle etc. are managed by the integrated Learning Management System.
