The English Department fervently and enthusiastically celebrated World Radio Day on February 13, 2024. The purpose of the celebration was to honour the value of radio broadcasting and its influence on society. A range of events were planned to keep both students and teachers interested. A live radio broadcast served as the celebration’s focal point. A wide variety of content, such as conversations, storytelling, music, and interviews, were included in the broadcast. Students demonstrated their talent and creativity by actively producing and presenting segments. The live broadcast provided an opportunity to highlight radio’s strength and adaptability as a communication and entertainment medium. In addition to the live broadcast, an interdepartmental quiz competition was held in the Seminar Hall. Teams from different departments competed against each other, testing their knowledge on various topics related to radio history, famous radio personalities, and iconic broadcasts. The quiz competition not only fostered healthy competition but also promoted collaboration and camaraderie among students from different academic backgrounds. The World Radio Day celebration organized by the English Department was a resounding success. The event not only highlighted the significance of radio broadcasting but also provided a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills. It served as a reminder of the enduring relevance of radio in an increasingly digital world.
