A Short History
The Department of Commerce (SF) was established in 2004 with the goal of developing employability of students by instilling essential qualities for success in a rapidly changing technological environment. The Department offers Bachelor of Commerce degree in Computer Applications, one of the most demanded courses of the modern academic world. The students of this specialization are not only taught the subjects of commerce, but are also taught to use the software technology for their professional requirements, which always proves as a leverage while being considered for placements. The Department is enriched by 4 lecturers with strong academic excellence. The department has a dynamic teaching approach through peer teaching, group discussions, social media teaching, seminars, presentations, project work, assignments and ICT supported teaching.
A B.Com (CA) graduate can find career opportunities in the field of accounting, banking, marketing, e-commerce, teaching, insurance and stock markets. These graduates can also find lucrative jobs in the software industry. Alternatively, one can also join any programs like MBA, MCA, M.Com, M.Com (CA), ACS, CA, MIB or MSW and pursue higher studies.
We are also committed towards moulding socially committed, morally upright and spiritually inspired personalities who will prove to be the youth this society needs. As part of this mission, apart from academics we encourage students to organize Seminars and inter department meets, participate in events organized by other colleges and also get involved in activities of social relevance. The department also offers support system for students through various initiatives like compulsory soft skill trainings, remedial coaching and mentoring systems to make sure that our students are getting all the help they need to meet the challenges of the globalised business environment.
