The department of Economics organised a diploma course on ALTERNATIVE BANKING AND FINANCE in line with global career prospects and challenges. It was organised in association with the Association for Research in Standardising Education (ARISE). The duration is six months, which began on February 2, 2023. The resource person for the course is Dr. A. B. Aliyar (retired) from United India Insurance. Around 30 students participated in the diploma course conducted by our department. Recently, alternative finance and banking concepts have gained ground against traditional institutions. It makes money management more flexible. It is fast and growing. Alternative finance is a blanket term that refers to any type of financial service managed outside the parameters of the traditional banking system. The course provided our students with an insight into alternative banking and financial services.
