The university curriculum has incorporated projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students intending to develop and maintain research culture and components along with a sound academic foundation. This will certainly enable the students to develop independent critical thinking skills, analytical skills along with oral and written communication skills. This research process will help the students to gain valuable learning objectives and help them while pursuing advanced professional programmes in future.

Focusing on promoting research culture among students, the postgraduate department of commerce has undertaken various activities around the year. A collaboration with the research committee of Government College, Tripunithura is an initiative taken to synergise the expertise of both institutions. A series of online workshops are arranged as per this collaboration emphasising research topics. The first step for this ROWS – Research Orientation Workshop (Online) Series was organised on 3rd August 2021 at 2.30 pm for postgraduate students of commerce. The workshop dealt with the topic “Data Analysis using JAMOVI” for which Dr Vineeth KM, Assistant Professor and Research Supervisor of Government College, Tripunithura was the resource person. Software packages are highly useful for the data analysis undertaken for research studies. This will help the research students to come out with accurate results and make their work easier. Jamovi is a new software that is very easy and simple to operate and can be used freely and widely used in social science research. The workshop was very interesting and it very much helped students analyse their data and come up with accurate results, which made the interpretations easy.
