Transition from school to university/college life is one of the most challenging events in a students’ life. The new students from while entering to a new institution are upto an unfamiliar environment When new students diverse thoughts, backgrounds and preparationsenter an institution, they are into a new unfamiliar environment, and many of them have little knowledge of a college. It is therefore an important task, to welcome and orient new students so as to guide, mentor and prepare them for their new role. The Post Graduate Department of Commerce, conducted a Student Induction Programme for the first year UG students (BCom) on 11th July, 2023 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
The HOD, Ms. Shamila NA Welcomed the new students and shared the information regarding the internal and external assesment procedures. Dr. Leena Varghese, Dr. Nisha Josesph also shared about the activities undertakne in the department, Mr. Faiz another faculty of the department also addressed the new students and motivated the students. Student Induction Programme helped new students to adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self exploration.
