Department of Sound Engineering conducted a Hands-on session on the topic ‘Sound Basics’ by audio engineer Mr. Arun Rama Varma. The session was conducted on 13th September 2023. Arun Rama Varma is a senior audio engineer in Indian Movie Industry who has worked in more than 100 movies, and his session was very enlightening to the students.
Arun Rama Varma handled the session by introducing his current work profile, and demonstrated various projects which he is currently working on. The session began with the basics of sound. Later on, he explained about different engineering techniques used in current film industry. Also, he shared various scenarios in which he creatively placed microphones and recording gear to capture sounds and done a practical session regarding sound design and surround sound.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Remya K Prabha, Assistant Professor, Department of B.Voc.
