Department of Chemistry organised an Extension programme in association with IIC on “ALCKEMY 2k23” for the students of Govt. High School Nochima and Al Ameen International Public School, Edathala, on 13/02/2023 in the chemistry lab. The programme aimed to inculcate scientific temper among school children and craete awareness about recent trends, latest discoveries and achievements in chemistry.
BSc chemistry students demonstrated several classic experiments in chemistry to demonstrate achievements and the latest discoveries in chemistry. Students created related posters and pasted them in the corridors of the chemistry lab. The pictures of Nobel Prize winners (2015-2022) in chemistry were made into bottle art in reagent bottles and exhibited.
107 Students from Govt. High School Nochima and 32 students from the 8th and 9th standards from Al Ameen International Public School attended the event. The progrmme was conducted in three sessions from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm. All volunteers from BSc Chemistry actively participated in the programme; they interacted with students during the different stages of the experiments and cleared the doubts of school children.
