Dr. M S Swaminathan, the legendary agricultural scientist who is widely known as the “Father of the Green Revolution in India” passed away on September 28^th 2023.He was the main architect of the green revolution in India for his leadership and role in introducing and further developing high-yielding varieties of wheat and rice. As a tribute to this leader, the Department of Economics conducted one day seminar  “The Man who Combating Hunger : Memoir of M S Swaminathan  on 17/10/2023 at seminar hall. The speaker was Dr.Pradeep P, Assistant Professor ,Department of Economics, Sree Kerala Varma College, Trissur. The objective of seminar is to familiarize the students the role played by Dr M S Swaminathan to build hunger free. The programme started with silent prayer as a mark of respect to Dr. M S Swaminathan. Dr.Shaniba MH,Head of Department extended a warm welcome to the guest and audience. Dr.Pradeep in his presentation enlisted the remarkable contributions made by this great visionary. His groundbreaking work in agriculture transformed the lives of millions and ensured food security for our nation. 91 students from the department of Economics has attended the seminar .At the end of the presentation, students interacted with the speaker raised their doubts.
