The PASSWORD 2023-24 – One-Day Personality Development and Career Guidance Camp was organized by the Minority Welfare Department, Government of Kerala, in collaboration with the Minority Welfare Cell, Ernakulam Collectorate at Al Ameen College, Edathala on 23rd January 2024. The camp aimed to empower students, particularly from minority communities, with the necessary skills and guidance to enhance their personal and professional growth. The event successfully engaged 100 students from various degree programs, empowering them with the tools needed to enhance their personalities and prepare for their future careers.
The camp started at 9:00 am with participant registration. By 9:30 am, the inaugural session commenced. The session began with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Cini Kurian, Principal of Al Ameen College. She warmly welcomed all the participants and highlighted the importance of personality development and career planning for the students. Mr. S. Shajahan, Additional District Magistrate, Ernakulampresided over the function, emphasizing the role of personality development in shaping the future of students. The camp was officially inaugurated by Ms. Preeja Kunjumon, President of Edathala Grama Panchayat. She expressed her support for such initiatives that aim to empower youth, especially from minority backgrounds, and encourage them to strive for excellence. Ms. Hazeena V N, Principal of CCMY, Mattanchery, provided an overview of the camp’s objectives and structure, setting the tone for the day’s activities. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Abdul Hakkeem, Program Coordinator, who acknowledged the contributions of all involved in making the camp a reality.
The first session of the camp was conducted by Dr. PV Joseph, an HR Trainer and Motivational Speaker. Dr. Joseph shared valuable insights into the significance of career planning and personal development. He emphasized the importance of building a strong personality to achieve success in both professional and personal life. The students were highly engaged during the session, actively participating and asking insightful questions. Dr. Joseph’s motivational talk inspired many to pursue their career goals with determination.
After the lunch break, Mr. Aibil Mathai, a Social Worker and Faculty of the Minority Welfare Department, took the stage. His session focused on leadership, time management, and goal setting. The activities included group discussions, role plays, and time management games, which helped students understand and implement these concepts in real-life scenarios.
The camp concluded with the valedictory session at 5:15 pm. The programme wrapped up with a final note of thanks from the organizing committee. Students were encouraged to apply the lessons learned during the camp to their academic and personal lives.
