With an aim to steer students into the realm of creativity and innovation, the Department of Business Administration in association with the Institution Innovation Council has organized a management oration on the topic “How to spur the unicorn in you?” on 16th February 2022. The theme of the session was to develop critical thinking, Design Thinking, and Innovation Design, to find a competitive position in the world of business.

Ms. Bindu Valoor, BDM, Ahalya Group of Institutes was the resource person of the session. Bindu Valoor presently serves as the Manager of Academics Outreach of Ahalia Group Institutions, India, which is a reputed business conglomerate headquartered in UAE.

Since she had prior experience guiding students toward critical thinking, inventive design, and design thinking, she was the best option for leading the workshop. She discussed the importance of critical thinking in the workplace and how it may help a business man to gain a competitive advantage over his competitors. She shared some Innovative ideas and some narratives related to it. Later she gave the students a situation to solve and encouraged them to suggest an innovative solution to it. A handful of our pupils were able to come up with creative answers in such a short span of time.

The session was in the hybrid mode because, Resource Person has attended the session over the e-platform Google meet and students attended the session in the offline classroom. Total 60 students and 4 faculty members attended the session.

It was an interactive event during which students cleared their doubts like how can they turn their unique design into a reality and how to find angel investors etc. Ms. Ashina Z (Faculty Coordinator) and Hameeda Thoyyiba (Student Coordinator) led the session, which lasted about 1.30 hours.
