The Department of Sound Engineering conducted a ‘Live Sound Reinforcement’ Workshop for students on April 20, 2023. The hands-on session was taken by the senior live sound engineer, Mr. K. T. Francis. The session began at 11 a.m. with a short welcome note by Nandu R, welcoming K. T. Francis to the session. Mr.K.T.Francis took over the session by introducing his current work profile and demonstrating various projects that he is currently working on. He explained to students the role of live sound mixing in the audio industry. Various examples were introduced to the students. John K. V. Kolins, a student of the B.Voc. Sound Engineering Department, mixed a live session played by our students and pointed out the mistakes that can happen while miking and mixing the instruments.

The session was an excellent opportunity for the students of our department to learn more about the latest developments in the arena of advanced sound mixing. All the students have utilized this opportunity to get maximum knowledge from the expert regarding sound mixing. The tips shared by KT Francis were some of the best methods followed in the industry, which have shed new light on unexplored arenas of sound mixing not only for students but for all the faculties in the department. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by BVoc faculty member Christopher V. M.
