The Department of Chemistry conducted an induction program for first-year B.Sc. Chemistry students on the topic “Career Opportunities in Petroleum Industries” on August 16, 2023, at 10:30 AM. The objective of the programme was to provide knowledge about various research and career opportunities in the petrochemical industry. The session was hosted by Mr Madhusoodhanan Nair, Quality Control Manager (retired) from BPCL, Kochi Refinery, who currently serves as the Managing Director of Industrial Training and Services. Dr. Leji Latheef, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry at Al-Ameen College, Edathala, coordinated the program.
The speaker focused on the diverse career opportunities in the oil and gas industries. He advised students to pursue certificate courses related to the petrochemical field to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in this field. The students actively participated in the session, with a total of 25 students in attendance.
