Food festivals serve as platforms for sharing agrobiodiversity and are a cultural expression of traditional food and agricultural traditions. The idea of the food festival is primarily to reintegrate value back into food systems and food culture.

The department of Biotechnology conducted a food fest on 7 February 2020.The programme was named as Tharavattile Ruchikkoottukal. Inauguration was done by Prof.M B Sasidharan, college principal and the food fest began during the interval time at 11:30 am. Students prepared different varieties of food and was sold in different stalls. Major attractions of the fest were live Dosa and lime stall. Different varieties of lime juice were provided. Native varieties include puttu, kattan and kadala Kappa chammanthy ,avalvilayichathu,dosa ,chutney etc. Arabic foods include iranipola,shawarmapola etc. desserts include strawberry cake,gulab  jamun, fruit salad ,pinnapple saffola etc. the coordinator of the programme was Ms.Shafila P S.Asst.Prof. Department of biotechnology. Students and teachers from various departments participated in the fest and was a grand success.
