Nature club, Al-Ameen College, has taken the first steps in setting up a campus nursery on 6th June 2022 in the college premises. This comes as part of observing the World Environment Day, which is celebrated annually on 5th June with the aim of protecting our environment and creating awareness about various environmental issues. This year’s theme for World Environment Day is ‘Only one Earth’ and it stresses on the importance of conserving our nature for sustaining life on Earth. Nature club of Al-Ameen College makes a small effort in conserving nature by setting up the campus nursery. We plan to build our own sapling inventory which can be used for landscaping and beautification of the campus. In the first phase, we have planted around 30 bags of common landscaping shrubs and some common plants such as Thulsi, panikoorkka.

Students assembled at Pachathuruth at 1:30pm to prep the area allotted for the nursery. Around 26 students joined hands to clear the waste and weeds from the nursery area. After the area was prepped, they filled the sapling bags with soil and planted the saplings. Asst Professor Jiss Theres and Asst. Prof Shania Mary Jose also joined the students in setting up the nursery.
