It is a common seeing trend that, the preference of a graduate towards a corporate job. Because he believes that it will help him to get settled in his personal life. So, he will be working hard to get a corporate job. Actually, this is the thing that society teaches a person during his academics. But, if a student decides to start his venture, that would a milestone in his life. That is what the NEP 2020 also aims to implement in upcoming years across the country.
So, considering the need of inspiring and guiding students towards the world of entrepreneurship, the Institutions’ Innovation Council of Al Ameen College has organized a one day workshop on the topic “Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Career Opportunity” on 24th November 2022 at the college seminar hall.
Dr. Ajay Basil Varghese, Asst. Professor and Incubation in Charge, Adhi Sankara Engineering College was the resource person of the session. Dr. Ajay Basil started his session asking students about the future plans after the graduation and the students expressed their plans. Then he explained the benefits of being an entrepreneur and how the innovation and entrepreneurship can be tuned as a career. He also shared the success stories of few young entrepreneurs which really inspired the students. Later, the session moved to group activity, in which students were asked to work on their ideas and to present it. Students did a great attempt and few ideas were found like that can be converted it to successful start-ups after polishing. After the session, there was feedback taking session in which students conveyed that they really motivated by the session.
The session was a mind changing one and total of 40 students have benefitted out of the session. The programme was coordinated by the IIC Faculty Coordinators, Dr. Kala N, Ms. Ashina Z. and Ms. Remya B. Nair.
