A three Day Intercollegiate camp was organized by NSS Volunteers from 23-09-2016 to 25-09-2016 with the aim of providing a plat form for youngsters to discuss the various aspects of social media. The inaugural function was presided over by Dr Junaid Rahman, Manager Al-Ameen College Edathala. Mr Sunil Njaliyath, translator and
sahitya Academy Award winner inaugurated the camp and discussed dimensions of social media and notable achievements such as ‘Anbodu Kochi’ a face book initiative by Sri. Raja Manikam former collector of Ernakulam. Al-Ameen Educational Trust Chairman Adv. T.P.M Ibrahim Khan, chairman and prof Muhammed Thahir, joint
secretary attended the function.

The first session was a motivational class by Sri. Thomas Wilson, Programme Office Training and Communication. Blue Point Organisation, Thiruvananthapuram. A creative session for exhibiting talents through poems and
writings was the concluding event of the day.

A meditation session started the activities of the next day followed by a talk on ‘New social media and social interpretations by Adv. Harish vasudev.Asianet Keerthimudhra Award winner and Environmentalist. Sri Kuzhur Wilson, poet and initiator of the first Malayalam blog for poetry, discussed the topic “ influence of new social media on language and literature. “ Mr Manoj karigamadathil continued the awareness session with a talk on “ information and new social media.”

Dr Sabukuttan, NSs Programme Co-ordinator MG University visited the camp and went over the proposed new schemes of NSS such as cleaning of sabarimala from pamba under the programme of swatch Bharath and visit to 100
villages. He also released the magazine ‘prayer book of Silence Screaming. Mr  Rishikesh Bhasker, Swanthantra Computing, Admin ICU was the next speaker who discoursed the topic ‘Satire on New Media’. ‘Nattusandhya’, a film song session, led by Prof Sabuji Lecturer,Malayalam department followed.

The final day of the camp started with medication followed by a talk on ‘Use of New Social media in light of Cyber laws’ by Sri. Thalhath P M, Civil Police Officer, Cyber Cell. The camp concluded with the valedictory session.
