Owing to the outbreak of COVID 19 the global pandemic which resulted in the shutting down of all academic institutions abruptly, the Department of Economics of Al- Ameen college came up with an initiative to conduct an online elocution program. The department  organized the first PNR Raju Memorial All Kerala Inter collegiate Online Elocution Competition based on the theme  COVID 19 & Kerala Economy-Impact and Concerns, to foster the skill of public speaking among students and to keep their creativity intact during lockdown period. 37 students from 34 colleges across Kerala took initiative to participate in the competition. Each participant was provided five minutes to speak on various aspects of the topic. They also recorded a 5 minutes video and posted the same in the  WhatsApp group created for the competition. Their performance reflected the understanding of the topics.

Albitha  Kurian of  St George College, Aruvithara   and Siva Hari   of  NSS College, Ottappalam secured first and 2nd position respectively where as the 3rd position was shared between Devika Unni of St Peter’s College, Kolenchery and Harivindnath of S N College  Kollam. The winners were awarded with a Certificate of merit and cash prizes.
