Department of Mathematics conducted a seminar on the topic “ DEVELOPMENT OF NUMBER SYSTEM” on 26/07/2018. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Venketeswara R. Pai, Assistant Professor, IISER, Pune to the degree students . He explained three systems which got developed to represent the numbers , and explained how did Indian astronomers make use of continued fraction for the solving different astronomical problems by considering the Moon’s motion as a case study.
