Women cell in association with nature club started marigold Cultivation during May –September 2018 in Al Ameen College with a focus to sell the flowers during onam Season. Marigold varieties (Orange and yellow) were planted in the campus. The cultivation was done in 80 cents of land in the college campus. The harvesting of flowers was inaugurated by botanist Dr C.M Joy in the presence of our principal Prof M B Sasidharan. Nearly 250 kgs of flowers were harvested, but due to extreme climatic conditions and flood flowers could not be sold at the time of Onam. After Onam holidays, the flowers were sold to Kambam market and the money was used for the renovation of Anganwadis in Kadungalloor Panchayath.
