Moved by the plight of an impoverished neighbour, the NSS volunteers of Al-Ameen College decided to build her a home and they started a unique Piggybank (Kudukka) challenge to support the mission (10.10.2018). They started collecting funds from their families and friends to collect Rs 58,000 in one week out of the Rs. 4 lakh goal they had. The students also conducted food festivals to mobilize more funds and to maximize participation. The students who were collected the maximum amount where presented with a Nava Kerala Lottery ticket released by the state government to revamp the post-flood operations. NSS programme officers Abdul Salam and Shahanoor Beegum led the campaign.
