On 19 January 2024, the First BTTM students, accompanied by two teachers, departed from the college at 10:00 AM and arrived at Fort Cochin at 11:00 AM. About Fort Cochin:

Kochi, formerly known as Cochin, is a prominent city in the Indian state of Kerala. Renowned as a major tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors, Kochi is among the most visited cities in India. In 2017, Kerala’s Tourism Department reported that the city attracted over 23 million domestic tourists. Factors contributing to its popularity include MICE tourism, the Lulu Mall, Wonderla water theme park, and the metro infrastructure of Kochi city.

Often referred to as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea,” Kochi boasts one of the world’s finest natural harbors and was historically a central hub in the global spice trade. The term “Old Kochi” (currently known as West Kochi) encompasses a group of islands including Willington Island, Fort Kochi, and Mattancherry. The city’s name is derived from the Malayalam word “Kochazhi,” meaning small lagoon.

Lunch was scheduled for 1:30 PM. After lunch, the group engaged in exploration activities around Fort Cochin. They departed from Fort Cochin at 2:30 PM and returned to the college at approximately 3:30 PM. The excursion provided students with an invaluable opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. The experience was both educational and enjoyable. Parents arrived to pick up the students, and once all students had been collected, the teachers departed as well. The visit to Fort Cochin was highly enriching, offering insights into the city’s historical and cultural significance while complementing classroom learning.
