In  order  promote  mangrove  system  and its  importance  to  the  coastal  environment, Nature  Club  organised  a study trip  to the  bird  sanctuary, mangalavanam. About  45  students  visited  mangalavanam  and attended  a  seminar  about the  importance  of  conservation  of Mangroves  and the  main  species  of  animals, birds and  trees  found  in mangroves. During  the  visit,  the  students  gained  valuable  information on  the  role  of  mangroves  in protection  against coastal  erosion.
