Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is the apex executive body for the formulation and administration of rules, regulations and laws relating to micro, small, medium enterprises in India. MSME organizes regular entrepreneurship awareness, promotion and development programmes to nurture the talent of the youth by enlightening them on various aspects of industrial/ business activity required for setting up MSEs.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC)  and IIC of Al Ameen College Edathala hosted the “Entrepreneurship Development Programme” organized by MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Thrissur on 26 September 2022. . The inaugural ceremony started at 12:30 pm. Dr. Cini Kurian principal, Al Ameen College, Edathala welcomed the dignitaries and the participants to the function. Shri. G. S. Prakash, Joint Director and HoO, MSME- DFO, Thrissur gave the presidential address.

Shri. P. Rajeeve, Honourable minister for Industries and Coir inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address he elaborated on the government’s policies to bring up new enterprises since these micro, small and medium enterprises play an important role in employment creation and income generation. He said that the covid times had taught us Malayalis a lot of new habits and it is wise to invest in those habits for revenue generation. The function also witnessed the launching of Al Ameen College’s official news channel “Al Ameen Vision” The honourable minister who was also the former Editor- in- chief of Deshabhimani daily, launched the news channel.

As a gesture of love and gratitude Al Ameen College presented a momento to the minister. The momento contained handmade products that are 100% organic and eco-friendly. These products were made by the students of Al Ameen College who are also aspiring entrepreneurs. Shri. Najeeb P. A, General Manager, DIC, Ernakulam felicitated the gathering. The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Al Ameen College organized a small exhibition outside the seminar hall. The exhibition showcased the products made by the young entrepreneurs of the college. There were handmade cosmetics, bags, cakes, toiletries, cleaning products, etc in the exhibition. The minister interacted with the faculties and students of the college and extended all the support for the future ventures. Interactive session, where the participants raised their concerns on starting a new business. MSME promised all their support to the new entrepreneurs and the programme wound up at 5:00 pm.
