The Inaugural ceremony of BVoc Sound Engineering Audio Lab along with a two day Inter-Collegiate fest  ‘MixDown 2020’ were conducted on 18th and 19th of February 2020 respectively. The Chief guests for the function included film director Sibi Malayil, music composer Bijibal, playback singer Afsal and sound designer Ranganath Ravee.

The program commenced with the inauguration of Audio Lab by the renowned Malayalam film director Sibi Malayil. Proceeding further, the first recording session at the BVoc Audio Lab was a song by playback singer Afsal with music director Bijibal as the audio engineer.

After the inaugural ceremony, a formal meeting was held were all the distinguished guests along with the manager Dr. Junaid Rahman Al-Ameen College, Principal Prof Sashidharan and other trust members took part.

Film director Sibi Malayil delivered the inaugural speech. He talked about the importance of sound engineers in the film industry and also mentioned how this new BVoc Sound Engineering course can greatly contribute to the emerging film industry with qualified and industry-ready professionals. The program was then made colorful by Playback singer Afsal who entertained the gathering by singing one of his hit songs along with a student of Al-Ameen College.

The formal event concluded with a vote of thanks by Emmanuvel Thomas, student of BVoc Sound Engineering Department.

After the formal meeting function, the two day Inter-Collegiate arts and music Fest “MixDown 2020” started off with various competitions. A total of nine events were conducted in two days. The program witnessed great participation from many colleges in and around the city and the event was a grand success. Cash prizes worth Rs. 50,000/- were distributed to all the winners of various individual and team events.

The fest concluded with a music band competition on the second day.
