Anti- Drugs Cell conducted an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme on 29th November 2016. The keynote speaker for the programme was Dr. Nazar Muhammed, Clinical Psychologist. He reflected upon the various psychological imbalances that happens because of drug addiction and also mentioned about the withdrawal syndrome that makes it difficult for an addict to quit. He mainly talked about depression, anxiety and paranoia which can lead to suicidal tendencies. He also encouraged the students to accept psychological problems as normal diseases and to seek professional help if needed. He made the students aware of the social norms associated with psychological problems and enlightened the students look past these shackles. This session was inspirational and an eye-opener to many students.
