An Orientation programme on Certificate course on Medical Coding for the students was conducted by Department of Biotechnology on 13/07/2023. Medical coding is the process of taking a patient’s health care information like medical procedures, diagnosis, necessary medical equipment, and medical services information from the physician’s notes. A medical coder transforms this information into universal medical alphanumeric codes.
The programme was conducted in the seminar hall at 10.30 am. Ms Rahimol Ramesh, Head of the Department welcomed the gathering. Ms. Shani Jackson , Placement coordinator, Anton’s Medical Code led the session.She provided valuable insights to the students regarding the fundamentals of medical coding and its potential future uses. The students greatly appreciated the session for its informative content.
