The Biodiversity Club of Al-Ameen College Edathala organized a programme on making of Pachathuruth in association with both Haritha Kerala Mission and E-unnathi under the ‘Mythri-Mytree’ project. The aim of this program was to conserve the local biodiversity by growing a miniature forest in a vacant space available in the college campus. ‘Pachathuruth’ not only creates green lungs in urban spaces but also helps to protect and repopulate our spaces with several plants and trees of medicinal and other uses.20 fruit trees and 27 medicinal plants were collected by the students. The planting of “Pachathuruthu” was jointly inaugurated by Dr.BindhuSathyajith (Founder,Chairperson E-unnathi), and Asha G. Nair (Founder,member E-unnathi).They explained about the ‘Mythri-Mytree’ project of E-unnathi and the importance of making a Pachathuruth. Dr.CiniKurain, Vice Principal and Club coordinator Asst. Prof Alphy Nisa Stephen also participated.
