Sexual harassment at the workplace has unfortunately become a pervasive issue in recent times. Instances of such misconduct continue to emerge regularly, underscoring the urgency to address and combat this problem effectively. Sexual harassment at the workplace is an enhanced form of violence that takes place in daily routine and snatches away the women’s right to life and healthy livelihood. Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of our college organized an awareness programme on Sexual Harassment of Women @ Work Place” – Legal Aspects on 30.03.2023. The objective of the programme was to make aware of the (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The resource person was Adv. Smitha Varghese, Aluva Bar association, High Court. The programme started with a silent prayer. Ms. Zaina M.H, (Coordinator of ICC), Assistant Professor, Department Of Computer Science ,welcomed the gathering. The seminar highlighted on the legal aspects of women harassment at work place, how can it be prevented. She stressed on POSH Act to make students aware of it. Both male and female students actively participated in the program. During the session, the speaker shared several case studies she had previously managed. The program succeeded in raising awareness among women about their rights. Ms. Deepthi Serene Jose, a member of ICC and Assistant Professor from the Department of Business Administration, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
