NSS volunteers of Al-Ameen College, Edathala celebrated “International Yoga Day” on 21st June 2017, Wednesday. The NSS Volunteer Secretary, R Aswin (2ndsemester B C A) welcomed the gathering. The yoga session was handled by Ms.NimmyM Menon. She explained about the importance of yoga to the volunteers.She said that Yoga is a spiritual discipline uniting body and mind. She also explained Yoga asa way to exercise our bodies, breath, and minds. She also reminded the volunteers that yoga reduces blood pressure, it aids in reducing back pain, and it provides positive intervention for cancer patients, providing them exercises that help to give them more positive outlooks and reduce anxieties that cause them sleep-loss and nervousness.She illustrated various ‘Asanas’ that are useful for curing various problems like migraine, back pain etc. After a brief description, thirty five volunteers
actively participated in the yoga programme. Prof. Abdul Salam, and Prof.ShahanoorBeegum, NSS programme officers, led the programme.
