As the proverb says, “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies.” A person who reads more, knows world better. Inspired by these words, the Al Ameen College Library in collaboration with the Department of Languages conducted an enlightening webinar, “Ezhuthinte Vazhi” on 26-06-2020 afternoon at 3 pm. The event was hosted commemorating Mr. P.N. Panicker, the pioneer of the esteemed ‘library movement.’

The webinar was conducted on ‘Zoom’, as it is a difficult time for gatherings under COVID-19 circumstances. Mr. Shoukath, a wonderful rhetorician, writer and philosopher, was the chief guest of the program.

Having penned around 22 brilliant works of Malayalam literature, he has won the remarkable, ‘Kerala Sahitya Academy Award.’ Following the sublime welcome address delivered by Mrs. Ambili K.R, our librarian; Dr. Shalini Ajith of the Hindi department presented the felicitation. The webinar was a rewarding experience to the whole lot of students and teachers who participated (around 30), as it covered a multitude of areas like education, reading, writing, and life on the whole.

With the vote of thanks proposed by our student, Safeera from the Department of Commerce, the session wound up at 4:30 pm, leaving a cherishable contentment in the minds of ‘ readers’ and the ‘ People of literature.’
