Govt. of India has launched an ambitious initiative namely Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) The main objective is to  reach out to the key stakeholders in tourist places and to sensitize them on the centrality of maintaining the places clean and hygienic. Last financial year, a total of 15 states including Kerala were covered and 450 different types of activities were undertaken with the active involvement of the key stakeholders of tourism. In Kerala, 10 major tourist centers were covered with kind support and active participation of the District Collectors and  DTPC Secretaries of different districts in Kerala. During the current financial year of 2018-19, all the States and Union Territories in the country would be covered. The Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management is the designated agency for the implementation of this scheme. In Kerala, 11 majors tourist centers have been identified for this campaign, which includes the Kochi.

Department of Tourism conducted , Activities in Association with Ministry Of Tourism with the collaboration of Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), GOA. We actively participated in the stake holders meeting on 04.10.2019 at Cherai.
