Participation in the Seminar “The Importance of ‘Kavu’ in the Environmental Protection”

The members of nature club, Al-Ameen College attended a one day seminar on “The importance of ‘KAVU’ in the environmental protection” at Ponnakkudam Bhagavathi temple ground, Thevakkal on 29^th February, 2020. The seminar was jointly organized by National Medicinal Plant Board, State Medicinal Plant Board of Kerala and Ponnakkudam Bhagavathi Devasam Trust. The coordinator of the program was Mr. P K Ramachandran, former district coordinator, Kerala State Biodiversity Board. Twenty members of nature club including 16 students and 6 teachers participated in the seminar.

The program was inaugurated by the education minister of Kerala Prof. C. Raveendranadh. Kalamasseri Municipal chairperson Mrs. Rukia Jamal, Dr. N C Indrachoodan, Rtd DFO, Dr. V Balakrishnan, Secretary, Kerala State Biodiversity Board and Dr. N Sasidharan (Deputy project director NMPB RCFC) interacted with the participants.

After the seminar session there was a bird photography exhibition by the famous wild life photographer Sri. Mukundhan, Kizhakkemadam.
