Hindi Diwas or national Hindi Day is celebrated every year to mark the adaptation of the language Hindi (written in Devanagari Script) as the official language of India by the Constituent Assembly on September 14, 1949 proposed by the first Prime Minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru.

The Department of Hindi, Al-Ameen college, Edathala conducted a national level online Hindi quiz competition as part of the   Hindi day celebration. E-certificates were given to those  participants who  scored  65% and above.
