We gathered in our campus around 9 am on 27-09-2018.Started from the college around 9.30 am to Kuttampuzha, Kothamangalam and reached our first destination at about 11 am about Kuttampuzha Pooyamkutty: Pooyamkutty is a small town. It is known for a hydroelectric project by KSEB. The project was designed to build a hydroelectric power station at Peendimedu waterfall, 8 kilometers deep inside the forest from Pooyamkutty. It was started in the 1980s and abandoned in 1990s. The project was initially designed to make an installed capacity of 1000MW, similar to Idukki dam, then changed to 210MW and subsequently abandoned due to environmental and financial issues by the government of India. From there we went for jeep safari and trekking. After return back from trekking, we had our lunch and again came to spend time by walking into the forest. Really it was an amazing activity over there.
