The destruction of natural habitats is not just catastrophic for nature but for human beings as well. TheUnited Nations‘World Habitat Day’ is annually celebrated to reflect on the state of human settlements and people’s right to sufficient shelter. It also aims to remind people that they are responsible for the habitat of future generation.The Biodiversity Club of Al- Ameen College, Edathala celebrated “world habitat day” with the aim of restoring the degraded natural habitats, providing shelter for the arboreal animals and the conversion of barren lands into fertile ones which pop up the biodiversity of the campus on 5 October, 2019.Dr. Junaid Raman, Manager, Al-Ameen College inaugurated the programme by planting a tree sapling in the proposed “shanthisthal” area. Principal Prof Sasidharan M. B. and various club members and teachers were also present.
