The awareness about biodiversity protection was strengthened by Al-Ameen College Nature Club on 18th July 2019 by introducing a Biodiversity Club in our college. The club was introduced to conserve biodiversity in a timely manner and is formed to carry out programmes for conservation of local biodiversity. It also aims to equip younger generation to voluntarily engage in the local community to create awareness regarding biodiversity.

Club coordinator Mrs.AlphyNisaSteaphen welcomed the gathering and Principal Prof. M.B. Sasidharan presided over the function. In his presidential address he spoke about the necessity of protecting biodiversity and the importance of a club to spearhead the activities.

Kerala State Biodiversity Board Ernakulam district coordinator Sri. Ramachandran inaugurated the biodiversity club by handing over the board of “shanthisthal”,the proposed manmade forest ecosystem in the college, to the Principal. In his keynote address Mr. Ramachandran emphasised on the objectives of biodiversity club and the role of each member in protecting our rich flora and fauna.

As a part of the programme,a logo competition for the students was also conducted in the library.

The logo designed by the 1st year BSC Biotechnology student Mr.Althaf Mujeeb was selected as the best logo for biodiversity club. Sri Jayakumar M K, Edathala Division Forest Officer was also present.
