Anti Drugs cell and NCC conducted an Awareness programme on 27th March 2015. The resource person was Mr. Jaya Chandran, Health Inspector, Primary Health Center, Edathala. He discussed various health hazards associated with drug addiction like kidney and liver failure, cancer or lung damage.  Hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin may lead to high blood pressure and heart problems. As earlier stated, sharing of needles may transmit STDs. All these information and statistical data about the exponential growth in the number of patients affected with cancer was effective in creating awareness about the negatives of drugs among the students. This class also made them understand that drugs may give them wings to fly, but it will take away the blue sky from them.
