NSS and  Anti-Drugs cell conducted an Awareness program on 5th October 2018. The resource person was Civil Excise officer Mr. Oommer. He delivering the keynote speech with enough stress on the impact of drugs and alcohol on public health.  He discussed about the various juvenile laws and other laws concerning the possession and use of drug. He made the students aware of the fact that even if they are minor they can be subjected to punishment under juvenile laws and he also referred to various cases where students were tricked in carrying such illegal substances. He cautioned the students to be careful with strangers and not to be carriers of anything that they are unaware of. The session was effective as the students became aware of the fact that there are many dangers lingering around them and they need to be careful. There was also an interactive session where the student were given opportunity to propose various plans to overcome the problem of drug abuse.College principal Prof. M.B. Sasidharan presided over the function. NSS program officer Shahanoor Beegum welcomed the audience and volunteer secretary Anaswara delivered vote of thanks.
